About me
It doesn’t take much to get Tanya talking about the beauty of Alaska. “I want the world to know that Alaska is incredible—and everyone should experience it personally at least once.”
Tanya, as ATIA’s Travel Trade program lead, attends events across the globe and carries the message of Alaska tourism with her. She is also a huge proponent of sustainable tourism and is responsible for the Adventure Green Alaska certification program, which certifies Alaska tourism businesses that practice economic, environmental, social, and cultural sustainability. In fact, in 2017 Tanya received a Certificate in Sustainable Tourism from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
Originally from Colorado, she came to Alaska to pursue degrees in marine biology and communications from the University of Alaska Southeast. Following positions with Holland America Line as ship-board naturalist and Holiday Vacations, Tanya served as the Director of Tourism for Haines, Alaska before coming to ATIA in 2013.
